DOC

French to English Medical Medical (general) Neurological exam
Hi,

I have a summary of a neurological exam

"PFc droite 2 pts, plégie MSD 4pts, plégie MID 4pts, HLH droite 2pts, ataxie non testable, hémianesthésie droite 2pts, DOC"

I found the translation for all these acronyms except DOC...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Joanna

Hi everyone, could DOC = disorders of consciousnness in this instance?

Anne Schulz Jul 19, 2019:
pts = patients, or pts = points? If the latter, might "DOC" be the name of a neurological scale?
Alison Gaunt Jul 19, 2019:
DOC: might it stand for "diagnostic ou confirmation"? Lots of Google hits for the phrase, though not of the abbreviation... Just a thought.

Hi Anne, Here is the French: "Paralysie faciale centrale droite 2 pts, plégie membre supérieur droit 4 pts, plégie membre inférieur droit 2 pts, hémianopsie latéral homonyme 2 pts, ataxie non testable, hémianesthésie droite 2 pts, DOC"

Here is my English translation: "Right central facila palsy 2 pts, right arm paralysis 4 pts, right leg paralysis 4 pts, right lateral homonymous hemianopsia 2 pts, ataxia could not be tested, right hémianesthesia 2 pts and DOC"

Hi Joanna, if you found all acronyms, why don't you add the "long version" of the phrase; this might help to figure out what DOC stands for.

No measurement is given for DOC, maybe to be determined according to patients/situations.
