@Kim Too little context to decide. This "snippet" of a sentence is insufficient for drawing definite conclusions as to how to interpret "Depot" here (in a financial/investment vs. a pharmaceutical sense).

Afraid not, but I’m posting a few references in the hope that someone can come up with something.

The distinction appears to be between purchases made on the basis of (new) recommendations at the point of sale and purchases made on the basis of recommendations from an earlier point, still remembered because made by a trusted source.

agree Steffen Walter : A-ha, something like recommendations based on previous advice or order/shopping/purchase history? / Interesting. The meaning of "Depot" seems to be extremely hard to capture in this case. What about "historical/past recommendations"?

Not so much a new recommendation based on previous advice, but rather some previous recommendation still stored in your memory & still working on you? Playing with the idea of a slow- or sustained-release drug/Depotwirkung/Depoteffekt (see sempora link)
