This is the exact wording of the text that I received. I can only suspect that there was an in-between translation involved, but I do not have access to the original text (in whichever language it was produced).

Peculiar This is a highly unusual way of expressing the clause, which in effect says that the agreement will be valid until both events have occurred. Also, the use of "affected" is suspicious. Are you sure this is the exact wording of the original text, or is there any "in-between" translation involved here?
