English term or phrase: otherwise in Birth Certificate
Hello everybody!

I am translating a Certified Copy of an Entry from Great Britain into German.

About the mother's NAME AND SURNAME it says:
"XX otherwise YY".

And I don't know exactly what does this "otherwise" refer to.

Any idea? Thanks for help!

otherwise in birth certificate

Explanation:
"Otherwise" in this context is used to refer to the mother's maiden name because in this case she was having remarried before the child's birth. The birth certificate could also include wording such as "otherwise known as", "aka", or "XX, late YY, formerly ZZ".
In german, you can use "sonst" for this context or you can also use "auch bekannt als".
