Hi Steffen. Interesting topic. My preliminary suggestion is laminated panels, but I'll see if I can come up with some good examples. This might be a unique system. It's a kind of "sandwich" made of layers of boards and squared timbers and joined with hardwood dowels.

I use \"pins\" when I secure a mortise and tenon joint on a cabinet door, for instance. In cabinetry, joints are \"pinned.\" I believe the term \"peg\" is used for the same kind of thing on a larger scale for timber framing in houses. I would use \"dowel\" for this kind of construction because if I understand the system correctly, joints aren\'t being secured. Instead the dowels are drilled through layers of wood and probably glued in place.
Kantholz is another problem. Squared timbers wouldn\'t work here. I think the difference between Brett and Kantholz is that the latter is thicker (2 1/2\"?). So I would use boards and maybe \"thick stock\" or blocks.

Comment: "Thank you, Kim, for your assistance. However, the end customer had his final say and he opted for "glued plywood panels". This sounds not at all illogical if seen in contrast to "glued-laminated timber" = "Brettschichtholz".
Also, thank you for the "dowel" tip - right on the money! BTW, they use "beams" for Kanthölzer in this context.
