I would suggest you to omit the word "tendi" in your translation, as before that you already have"tendicatena".
The English translation of "tendicatena" is "tightening pulley".
An alternative to"tightening pulley" may be "belt tightener" or "chain tightener", but in my opinion "tightening pulley" is the most appropriate. I have always used "tightening pulley" to translate "tendicatena".
