The subtitles for this part read:
"Half an hour into the meeting I realized that something was up. Kaveh, who had not paid any attention to Masood since we first walked in, was now buttering him up."

The phrase that is translated as "buttering him up" sounds to me like "hala badjuri ... kar gerefte bud," but I can't recognize one of the words. What is being said here, and is "buttering him up" a good translation?
