Spanish term

ponencia

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Competitive bidding, Colombia to US

I'm not sure what this refers to, is it a person, a body, an action, or a document?

Grateful for any suggestions.

Discussion

lugoben Dec 18, 2015:
Ponencia It is more like a document as derived from the following

Ponencia de valores: The official table of values used by local municipalities to assess the rateable value of a property.
http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/ponencia-de-valores.1...

Yes it seems to be a report.
Robert Carter (asker) Dec 18, 2015:
Thank you Alvaro, yes I see now it clearly must mean some kind of document, perhaps a report as Adrian said, or a memo.
Ponencia 1. f.

5. f. Informe o dictamen dado por el ponente.

"ponencia" is one of those marvellous generic catch-all terms used to cover a multitude of offerings such as: reports, submissions, papers, lectures, petitions, ...

presentation, as a generic equivalent in plain English.
Note from asker:
Thanks for the input, Robin, you're not wrong, I just went with report in this instance.
