Printing technology
A UV pinning system that uses high power UV light emitting
diodes (LEDs) installed next to the inkjet array (print head).
The UV light from the pinning system, typically lower than
that of the full cure UV system, causes the UV ink to thicken,
also known as gelling, but not fully cure. This ink thickening
stops dot gain and holds the ink droplet pattern in place
until it reaches the full cure UV system.
This is a technique that uses UV curing to avoid dot gains and somehow maintain the ink in place before full cure.
It is an interim thikening system

Les encres à l’eau donnent de bons résultats au niveau de la résistance au frottement, de l’engraissement du point et ne contiennent pas de composés organiques volatiles. Leur quantité déposée, sur le papier par exemple, peut aller de 0,5 gramme de colorant sec par m2 à 3 grammes par m2 pour un aplat. Pour des raisons de coût, de séchage, de fiabilité de reproduction, seule la quantité d’encre nécessaire doit être déposée sur le papier.
