I'm simply copying your original suggestion for the main part of the translation — though I have to say I have some doubts about it; have you tried a term search for the source / sink aspect?
Had you not got the 'ou les deux' to get in the way, the situation would have been a whole lot easier!
Maybe you could grpup both 'courants' at the end?

I'm not familiar with the term, but I have some doubts that 'collecteur' would be appropriate in this context.
