relating to / on behalf of

The ST is a variant of the expresion "dans le chef de"

l'allocation de naissance du chef de l'enfant précité
-->
birth grant relating to (or: on behalf of) the above-mentioned (or: above-named) child

IHHO, "relating to" is more suitable in this specific context.

Yet another option: "grant deriving from the birth of the above-named child".

agree Jennifer White : agree - this has come up a few times before (Not "deriving from" tho.)

agree mchd

agree AilesLegeres : That said, I am used to seeing it as "au chef de"... the rest of the sentence discusses the guardian/representative

agree writeaway : on behalf of/for: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/business_commerc...

French term (edited): chef

household head

chef de famille = household head
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jennifer Levey : "la personne qui peut prétendre à l'allocation" is more likely to be the mother, who will not necessarily be the household head.

What about the mother being the household head? Have you ever heard of single parent households?
disagree mchd : cela ne correspond pas

chef de famille de l'enfant, est-ce incomprehensible ?
disagree writeaway : way of the mark. Asker should have posted du chef de -that's the expression/it's part of a French expression: du chef de. Not as in chef de famille
58 mins

". ref has nothing to do with this context.
