Non-PRO (1): mchd

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Aug 9, 2015:
Good afternoon Lovenah,
We\'ve a series of 30 questions or so on this \"tableau de réglage\" for a \"suremballeuse\". A number of us would like to help but we are all kind of screaming out for context. You have more than we do. We have next to none. Without it, we are insufficiently informed and can do little more than some intelligent guessing at some of the words which are abbreviated. Even then, we are not necessarily any closer to understanding what is going on. That leaves us some distance from being in a position to make helpful suggestions for English versions of the original.

I can sympathise if this is a kind of list. Tables are often tough to translate as written by people in the know, for people in the know.

What might really help - a lot - would be the manufacturer of the machine. A model number would be a cuase for celebration!

Can you help with any of these details?

@ Lovenah Since you have the whole document in front of you, possibly with helpful diagrams, you ought to have a much better idea than any of us of what this machine does and how it does it. Taken on their own, the three words above could mean anything, but I\'m sure you could put together some phrase involving \"position\", blow\" and \"cut\", ditto for all the other entries in this table of settings.
