Law (general) / loan agreement -Spanish
Spanish term or phrase: interes remuneratorio inicial fijo
This phrase is from a clause in a loan agreement describing the interest rates for it:

I'm wondering about REMUNERATORIO; would it be sufficient to say "initial remunerative fixed interest"? I'm tempted to omit "remuneratorio".

As always, a thousand thanks!

if you have to include "remuneratorio", you could add "payable"

I have done untold numbers of these wretchedly boring loan/facility agreements but they are good earners......

complex loan agreements normally provide for two types of interest, remunatorio or the ordinary interest rate on (to "remunerate") the loan outstanding, and compensatorio (default interest) which is higher and "compensates" the lender for a default in prompt payment.....

Well they get 'wretchedly boring' after you have done a couple of dozen 50-100 pagers, all quite similar. My practice is to see how much money is involved - if under 10 million then I am cautious with my rates - over 100 million euros I know they will not be bothered too much about the price - over 500 million and I know client couldn't care less - they just want a good translation for syndication purposes.....

Asker: Loved your "wretchedly boring" comment, but I have to agree that they are good for the pocketbook! However, no mention of "interes compensatorio"...
