This is from the preface to a book written by an American photographer. The book shows aerial photography of a city. The photographs were taken from a helicopter.
I have no idea what "airtime" means in this case as I don't see that it can have anything to do with "Sendezeit" or "Sprechzeit".

"At only $500 an hour, Dennis flies a poor man’s helicopter, but that is just fine with me, as that means more time over the city, which gives me the ability to take chances with **airtime**."
