The 'talk' part is built-in to the technical expression!
PTT or Push To Talk means the button you press to make yur radio go into 'transmit' — this is covered in my suggested FR answer by the 'émission' part.
In FR, the PP = 'pression parole', which is the exact equivalment of the EN PPT.
So either of my suggested versions does indeed completely encompass the notion of 'push to talk'!

"foot push to talk" is the name for the whole system/concept - when you need to talk (presumably in a microphone) you have to push a button that is under your foot;
the piece of hardware used to materialize this concept is a (foot activated) push button;
to get it 100% right you need to find out if it's an on/off switch or a button that you have to keep pressed as long as you want to talk in the mike.

: Not technically accurate. A PTT switch (foot / hand) doesn't activate the microphone, but the transmitter; they are ALWAYS 'momentary' action — you must hold them 'on' the whole time you want to talk; a dedicated term exists, unwise to depart from that.

agree, OTOH I understand here "foot push to talk" as the name for the whole system/the concept, not for the bit of hardware.// Personally, I would prefer an on/off switch - you just press once and concentrate on driving ...
