Если что, ESF - это нарушение целостности оболочки капсулы (от англ. encapsulation shell failure), речь о капсулах, в которых содержится активатор, выпускаемый при воздействии на капсулы волнами (ультразвуковыми, электромагнитными и др.). Содержимое капсул, будучи выпущено, например ускоряет застывание цемента.

For remedial cementing, the ESF wave tool is mounted in a sub at or near the bottom of the work string and either continually or selectively operated (sending out ESF waves). The latter may be started by a dropping a dart or ball or by the same surface on/off tool controlling signal described above for drilling operations.
