neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: I think this may be a teeny weeny bit of an overtranslation, as it includes ideas which are in the brackets afterwards. It says more than the French original term. Perhaps "matrimonial declaration" would actually be more accurate.

agree  jem taylor: I agree with NS-D: "matrimonial declaration". The term is accurate and sufficient.

  -> Yes, Jem, but that would imply the person is married. I think the " attestation matrimoniale" could be negative, that is, the person is not married. That's why I used "marital status". thank you!
