neutral  Deane Goltermann: While I think this is the right idea, it is more of a definition than a term... generically you could say seller's (promissory) note.

  -> Yes, that might work. In Swedish it's called 'säljarrevers' (NOT 'säljrevers'), and it means that the seller/owner provides some of the financing when selling a company/property.

Don't know how 'half-cocked' this is, but I didn't get many hits on your term ... and none in the singular? There are many kinds of 'notes' or 'promissory notes' out there, named according to what is being sold. Your context ?
