French term

formulaire d'échanges avec le chercheur lors d'un dépôt app

French to English Law/Patents Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright
This seems to be part of a patent application regarding a software application. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe it is about Intrastat, and "app" refers to a computer application coupled with the issue; ... to fill in the electronic form ...

I give up :)

AllegroTrans Mar 10, 2014:
Is it in upper or lower case in your actual document?
George BuLah (X) Mar 10, 2014:
I think you both are right. Patent application is demande de brevet in French so "app" must be an acronym, or otherwise - google origin word :).

Annie Sapucaia (asker) Mar 10, 2014:
I think it might be Agence pour la protection des programmes as well. "App" is really the only word there. At first I thought it was App as in Application, but the agency makes more sense.

I don't think so. The only patent office worldwide that grants exclusive rights coupled with computer programmes/software is the USPTO. All others, or majority of patent offices do not.
The phrase probably stands for a kind of form that applicant (assignee) before the patent office uses in communication with the patent office's examiner (chercheur) who is responsible for the specific filing (application).
Otherwise, I am totally wrong since actually there is no "demande de brevet" :).

A wild guess (if it's a patent for a software application) would be that the last word that is the abbreviation APP: Agence pour la protection des programmes

app? is that really the last word of the form's name or have you left something out?
