French term or phrase: neuvième bémol
Calling all guitar players! I understand this is a ninth chord of some description, but don't know the exact term (afraid I learned the 'cello, and that's not helping !!) . Can anybody give me the right expression ?!!

agree  Alison Kapor (X): The chord in the explanation is an example of a chord with a flattened ninth, but it's not necessarily a D chord, of course, and it wouldn't have to have a 7th in it either, though it often does.
