Some people also use "de standby" but I wouldn't recommend it.

agree Carlos Blanco, B.Sc. in Chemistry : This is the way it is used in the US, standby rate is wait rate. Ex. trucker get about $100 as a standby day rate, that is they get $100 for each day they have to wait to be loaded.
