ЦДКА For the general public, the most known associations with ЦДКА (later renamed ЦCКА when the Red Army became the Soviet Army) were football and hockey clubs, often chapions of the country. Nowadays, when no Soviet Army exists, it is still ЦCКА (now Центральный Спортивный Клуб Армии)
