set out the basic grounds (of their case)

English to Polish Law/Patents Law (general)
Dear Mr XXX,

Our Client: Agnieszka YYY
Your daughter: Natalia XXX

Thank for your recent e-mails about your daughter, Natalia. I write to confirm that I attended court with my client, Agnieszka YYY on 30 July and to inform about the order the Judge made.

The Hearing

District Judge Fairwood has allocated this case to a more senior Judge. He has also arranged for there to be another hearing on 13 August 2013 at 10 am.

The hearings at the moment are of an administrative nature. The Court is deciding the best way to deal with Natalia’s case and what information it will need to be able to make a final decision about where Natalia should live.

The Judge has asked that the Local authority set out the basic grounds of their case in a document in the next 14 days. He also asked Agnieszka to tell the Court the names of other people she thought could look after Natalia..

I told the other parties that you had been in contact with me and that at the moment you supported Agnieszka’s case and wanted Natalia returned to live with her mother.

We did not contest Natalia remaining under the temporary Care Order at this time.

przedstawić zasadnicze podstawy swego stanowiska

Dosłownie oznacza to "podstawowe podstawowy jej sprawy" – "jej sprawa" występuje tu w znaczeniu takim, jak gdy mówimy "moja sprawa jest słuszna".

W praktyce oznacza to twierdzenia strony co do podstaw prawnych i faktycznych jej żądań.

chyba, że ma to dodatkowe znaczenie
Peer comment(s):

Pozdrawiam
