Spanish term

plicatura diafragmatica

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENOSCOPY REPORT
Hello everyone,

ES (Peru) > EN (US)

I'm having trouble figuring out this term due to its use in the sentence (used in describing the location of the organ and not the common "plication of the diaphragm" procedure).

Here is the context from the esophagogastroduodenoscopy report:

"ESOFAGO: Unión esofagogástrica a los 38cm arcada dentaria superior, coincidente con la plicatura diafragmatica."

My feeling is that "plicatura diafragmatica" is in reference to the top fold of the diaphragm, but I am having trouble finding that term.

Here is my translation thus far:

"ESOPHAGUS: Esophagogastric junction at 38cm from the upper dental arcade, overlapping with the diaphragmatic ____."

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks for the input, guys. One thing, though - this patient has not had diaphragmatic plication performed. The evaluation isn't the best writing, but I think the doctor is indicating the extension of the esophagus to a part of the diaphragm. Any other thoughts?
