: I think that what they mean is a petition for the issuance of a subpoena (e.g.http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_id=1... "Bringing in" is not a legal term. It s about being subpoenaed to testify as a witness.

Why not as a co-defendant? or co-plaintiff? BTW, I haven't suggested 'bringing in' :-)

Если же у вас речь о привлечении со-ответчиков, то вариант Олега "join the party to the case/proceedings", как вот здесь:
