sorry Phil you are right to rap me over the knuckles. A UK communications firm is handling this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sF7W4cxYNU . The editor has doubts about the literal translation appearing in the Eng. subtitles of the term I posted. I personally dislike 'abusive speculation' and would prefer 'unethical' or the like to reflect the 'profiteering' slant but see SJLD's input.

Yes, please give the context as you were asked to do when you posted.

After watching the video, I think that my primary suggestion – "excessive speculation" – fits the bill. Here are some English-language references:

[...] pioneer asset manager Benjamin Bingham on financial transactions tax to curb excessive speculation and high-frequency trading, closing tax havens, raising capital reserves, breaking up too-big-to-fail banks and more.

The theory is that the tax would discourage excessive speculation, thereby reducing the excess volatility that some contend arises from those activities.
http://www.caymanseminar.ky/materials/White_Paper.pdf

Just weeks ago Britain's financial regulator, Adair Turner, the Chairman of the Financial Services Authority, proposed a global tax on financial transactions to curb excessive speculation and executive pay.

pure (mere) speculation

Both phrases have the negative connotation that you may be looking for.
I can't find a dictionary confirmation but Google searches bring up both terms in context

unbridled speculation

Provided the term is being used in a "let's throw those nasty traders in the gallows" context :-).
Example sentence:

...financial transaction tax...as part of measures to stem the onslaught of unbridled speculation...

...investors who engage in unbridled speculation...flayed alive...fed to the sharks...
