Medical - Medical: Health Care / Hospital brochure
English term or phrase: Proctoring
I'm translating a brochure for an international healthcare company. There's a list of academic and clinical opportunities in other hospitals and universities throughout the world, among them it lists:

Observerships
Proctoring
Peer to peer workshops
Cadaver Lab

On the web, I've found this definition of Proctoring:

Definitions of Clinical Proctoring
Proctoring is an objective evaluation of a physician's clinical competence by a proctor who represents, and is responsible to, the medical staff. Initial applicants seeking privileges or existing medical staff members requesting new or expanded privileges are proctored while providing the services for which privileges are requested. In most instances, a proctor acts only as a monitor to evaluate technical and cognitive skills of another physician. A proctor does not directly participate in patient care, has no physician-patient relationship with the patient being treated, does not receive a fee from the patient, and represents and is responsible to the medical staff.

The terms proctorship and preceptorship are sometimes used interchangeably. However, a preceptorship is different in that it is an educational program in which a physician acquires additional skills, and the preceptor has primary responsibility for the patient's care.

"Have you ever had a hospital, health care facility or other health care organization invoke probation, issue a reprimand, **impose proctoring (other than proctoring when privileges are
initially granted**), require a second opinion or initiate an investigation of your professional conduct or competency?"

Otro ejemplo...

"proctoring" como el acto de "supervisar, vigilar, controlar, observar, hacer un seguimiento de" la conducta de un determinado profesional...

"During the provisional period, the individual's competence to exercise the clinical privileges granted and general conduct in the hospital shall be evaluated by the chairperson of the department or departments in which the individual has clinical privileges and by the relevant committees of the Medical Staff and Hospital. Provisional clinical privileges shall be adjusted to reflect clinical competence and ethics.
Clearly, the MEC had the power under these bylaws to **impose proctoring and monitoring** of Dr. Sadler's performance of surgery and management of maternity cases at the hospital."

Asker: I'm wondering why you added that link, it's for a clinical observership program, which is different than proctoring. Where did you get supervision from?

Asker: Thank you for posting the additional links. What I would've liked to have found is one that was on both languages, or at least one in Spanish that used the term. I've opted for translating it as "supervisión y evaluación" leaving "proctoring" next to it in parenthesis. Thanks again.
