French to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Music / Description of a "Praeludium en mi majeur "
French term or phrase: de fière allure
Après une introduction en guirlandes, la première fugue fait entendre un sujet de fière allure, avec ses quartes ascendantes et sa retombée en une révérence de doubles croches.

type of document: back of a CD
country and dialect: FR
target audience/country: US
specific context:

of proud bearing

Explanation:
It sounds majestic. I'm thinking "maestoso" (from Italian, of course), but I think that the phrase "of proud bearing" gets the point across--a kind of musical comportment, grandeur--especially with the "reverence" which comes later. There is a certain gravity and dignity to the phrase "of proud bearing" that I think would work well here.
