Hi Bryan, just a comment on 'toepassingsgerichte'. I know 'dedicated' is often translated that way, but in this case, the specific purpose is reflected by adding 'buizen'. Adding 'toepassingsgerichte' is contrived and almost makes it a pleonasme, imho.
Even though it is listed here: http://www.encyclo.nl/begrip/toepassingsgericht kanaal you will find very few uses when you google for it. Toepassingsgericht really/literally means: intended for application, and is mostly used for research and courses. Imho, toepassingsgericht is not the same as 'speciaal' or 'specifiek' which is implied in 'dedicated'. When 'toepassing' refers to 'applications' (software) it becomes a whole different story. When you google for 'toepassingsgericht', the first google hits you will get are dictionary and translation versions of it. To me, this is usually a red flag, and you will have to be cautious about applying it in general contexts.
