there is no typo here de composition in this sentence is correct (accidental or natural) but I would not venture in translating the idea in English...

Missing word or typo - IMO there should be an adjective after composition. Doesn't make sense to me as is.

What the radiologist is getting at here is that it would be surprising if such an opacity had arisen so soon after the previous film available for interpretation. He/she suspects that it may be a coincidence of the alignment of normal anatomical structures on this particular film.

I don't think there is a mistake. It makes me think of the "image de composition", an image which is specially assembled or built.
