rondela
The word 'rondela' comes from Italian language, it is the round which is attached to cap screw. Probably rond is abbrevation of this term.

If you examine the following, taken from the list of truck spare parts whose URL is shown below, you will see that 'rond' does indeed seem to serve as an abbreviation for 'rondela' (which is a washer as far as I know):
