PRO (3): Erkan Dogan, Mehmet Ali Bahıt, Recep Kurt
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.
Proposed translations
We'll die for nothing.
The truck driver is sleepless and the passengers are afraid that he will dose off on the wheel.
"Anafor" is slang for something you get for free, without making any effort ("Something for nothing" if you will). In this context, "We'll die for nothing" should do it.
I swear the God, wobbling will/would kill us!
Thank you for your help, this was a very fun story to translate |

Namely, this situation experienced entailes construction of a"unreal past conditional sentence" as stated by me above.
Thank you Salih. I would just note that in English it would sound better to say " I swear to God we might die suddenly". |
Discussion
"Kısa bir pazarlıktan sonra ellişer kuruşa şoförün yanına binmek hususunda mutabık kaldık."
If we do not stress the "anafor" bit, the whole line can be loosely translated as:
"Hope we won't have any trouble. We will meet our maker if he goes on like this. Prod him if he doses off again."
