French term or phrase: le filé a un titrage de 12,5 tex (Nm=80) Here´s the whole paragraph, from a document about how to manufacture some kind of gauntlet gloves for the army. Le tricot en en 100% coton de coloris blanc azuré optique (azurant rose interdit), le filé a un titrage de 12,5 tex (Nm=80) et une torsion Z 1000 à 1050 tr/m. Help! Would "le filé" be the yarn here? And does "titrage" just mean what the denier (tex) is? Any attempts? I´m really stuck on this sentence. But I have translated various French terms all as thread, and I think in this case yarn would be understood perfectly. I know it´s not as common in this sense in British English, but I have found a lot of technical references as to it being called as such. In the expression, yarn is the commonly used American word for 'thick fibre or thread'. Though this would be described as wool in British English, yarn bombing is still the term used in the UK, though aficionados in Britain have also coined the lexical variant yarnstorming because of the negative associations of the word bombing. Notes to answerer Asker: Thanks Kashew! I had done some more research about the Nm part and know that we can say that in English, but I think "count" works well for "titrage". Thanks for the link - I hadn´t come across that one in my research.
