It is still not clear. However, while "concessionario del credito" is a lender, "il cessionario del credito" is a very different thing. This person has probably bought either a loan or a debt and is in my financial language the purchaser of a loan/debt/receivable (depending on the case) and in Thomas's more legal terminology the "assignee" of a receivable or loan.

Oh dear! I have really caused some confusion here when I posted my question.

I meant to write CESSIONARIO del credito. (just as it appears in the text)

Concessionario is a car dealer, of course, and has nothing to do with this financial discussion.

The concessionario is one of the two contracting parties, and not an external party.

Now is all clear?

Can I go in peace withe lender???? lender = cessionario del credito? ...although assignee of the receivable seems just as correct...

Alicia the orginal context you gave gives a "concessionario del credito" which is a lender, while the second as Cristiana's sharp eye points out does not. A "concessionario" in this case could well be the state debt collection agency or any other of a number of different types of possibilities. From the original context it looked like a bank (concessionario) selling a loan to "cessionario" buyer of the loan, who wants a guarantee, which is a bit unusual.

Hi, Alicia, you have two words here: concessionario and cessionario.
and in your text there is no "concessionario del credito" only "cessionario del credito" as far as I can read.
so Concessionario, I infer from your text, has nothing to do with concessionario del credito, whereas "cessionario del credito" within the sentence you have provided, seems to me precisely what Thomas suggested:
"a favore di xxx e eventuale cessionario" that is xxx or someone to whom the debt (or receivable) is assigned .

Okay, here is more context to better clarify the situation:
GARANZIE PER L'ATTIVITÀ DEL CONCESSIONARIO is the title, and the text that follows this bit is:Il Concessionario si obbliga a mantenere la predetta garanzia minima ed a ricostituirla prontamente, nell'ipotesi in cui, per qualsiasi motivo, anche se dovuto ad escussione, dovesse venire meno, in tutto od in parte, nonché di adeguarla, aumentandola nell'importo, se ciò si rendesse necessario, per mantenerla proporzionata all'esposizione debitoria del Concessionario, salva l’applicazione, in caso contrario, di ogni rimedio che la legge pone a tutela del creditore, in via generale, ovvero specifica.
Another doubt that I have now is due to Thomas' response. If credit should be translated as receivable here, should I have translated it like this throughout the entire text?...
