Explanation:
Lo interpreto come "dropping of the blank", dove il "blank" è ovviamente il pezzo/lamiera da sottoporre a stampaggio.
Meno probabile, ma da controllare con il contesto generale, che si tratti di un "drop" a vuoto, cioè l'alimentazione simulata del pezzo senza però effettuare l'operazione.

Direi che certamente "blank" é il pezzo da stampare. "Drop" forse lascia piú in dubbio, ma se si tratta di un robot che posiziona il pezzo allora parla sicuramente dell'ultima fase dell'operazione, in cui il robot lascia la presa.

Asker: Grazie, visto che come definizione di blank il glossario della compagnia dà: BLANK – 1). A specific length of stock after being sheared from the coil of wire. 2). A part while in the process of being formed. 3). A formed but not yet completed part. (Example “Screw Blank”), penso sia più la prima definizione che tu hai suggerito.
