: Is this the voie royale that is being opened? Seems to me there are "a whole range of possibilities" the author could be referring to. I would think of royale more in terms of quality than quantity. Depth rather than range.

: more poetic, as the work was about the absence and presence of all colours, as black is not a colour.

Thanks. The colour allusion may or may be positive - the Xlator will decide. But otherwise, this doesn't seem to risk adding other additional interpretation & value judgments that are not in the original.
