German term

aus kombinatorischer Sicht

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
"Damit ist davon auszugehen, dass die Wahrscheinlichkeit eines fehlerhaften Ergebnisses aus kombinatorischer Sicht besser als 5x10 ..... ist." The figure is actually very large, being followed by a superscript "to the power of 50".

I've got "from the combinatorial perspective" so far, but it's a mouthful and I'm still not sure what the German means. Any ideas welcome.

Why not just ... "combinatorial error probability", Louise?

It is well possible to talk about "combinatorial probability": http://www.math.umt.edu/steele/STAT341/ch2.pdf

And combinatorics is used to code in error detection & control, to decide how much built-in redudancy is necessary to overcome noise issues in communication channels, etc. : http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~atri/courses/coding-theory/lectu...

Just an idea -- I'm not a specialist.

Agree with Mack, context needed. Womit? What is your "Damit" referring to ?
