To avoid confusion with "fall season", I would use:
ثلاثية الخريف
ثلاثية الشتاء إلخ
It's clear that the term in US colleges and universities doesn't automatically last 3 months. So one should find out a compromise.
And anyhow even in Arabic when you say Thulatheeya talking about educational system, it doesn't automatically mean 3 months.
At least this is the technical word or terminology used in many Arab Countries.
