I am having problems with the term "validar" for contactless train and metro tickets as shown below

Validar antes de embarcar em todas as viagens, excepto quando mudar de comboio (antecedência Máxima de 15 min).

Assinaturas Urbanas

Não necessitam de validação, até informação em contrário.

Validar antes de embarcar em todas as viagens (antecedência máxima de 10 min).


I have suggested my client a phrase along the lines of "Touch the card reader with your card before boarding" but they want a verb and suggested "check your ticket" which I do not agree with.

Can anyone out there give me some better suggestions please?
