: if the story had to do with a fight, it would be coincidental..."batallitas" are indeed the elaborate stories that grandparents tell about the old times ("contar batallitas" es una expresión figurada, no conviene tomarla literalmente)

Con respecto a los hijos y nietos, los abuelos con los años de experiencia acumulada, y como suelen tener más tiempo, deben ser los transmisores entre las generaciones de las tradiciones y de la herencia cultural y social, (en esto insiste mucho Juan Pablo II) con prudencia, cordialidad y respeto, abiertos siempre a escuchar y comprender a los jóvenes y muy exigentes siempre con la verdad -no con mi verdad-, sin conformarse con hacer de comparsa de la nuevas generaciones –esto es muy fácil-, contar nuestras batallitas o recurrir a lo viejos recuerdos de nuestros tiempos.
