Russian term
цена на уран в концентрате природного урана
Russian to English
Tech/Engineering
Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
uranium processing
Hi there,
Could some-one with some expertise in the field of chemistry (engineering, natural resource mining) please offer some input on this phrase for me?
The title of the document is "Методика определения цен на уран в концентрате природного урана, применяемая в целях контроля трансфертного ценообразования для доставок концентрата природного урана"
My question is this:
1) is a literal translation (natural uranium concentrate) an acceptable term to describe this концентрате природного урана? Or is this substance in actual fact something like (uranium) yellowcake?
2) in the context of the phrase in the title (цена на уран в концентрате природного урана), does the цена на уран в imply the cost of the uranium which is extracted from the концентрат природного урана? (i.e. the cost of uranium in natural uranium concentrate?)
Many thanks for your help.

the cost of uranium in natural uranium concentrate
I would stick to the literal translation.
What is yellowcake is explained here (70 to 90 percent triuranium octoxide (U3O8) by weight):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowcake
There may be different concentrates (formulas) of natural uranium. Your document seems to set forward a procedure for determining the cost of uranium in any type of concentrate.

the price for the uranium in natural uranium concentrate
The term "natural uranium concentrate" is widely used by Western writers. See, for example, http://www.osti.gov/energycitations/product.biblio.jsp?osti_... "Yellowcake" is sometimes used as an equivalent term, but yellowcake is sometimes described as a specific type of "natural uranium concentrate." See, for example, http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/nuclear/page/glossary.html.
