Good question, Paula Vaz-Carreiro Thank you so much for asking. To me, that "elevated" did sound like an elevated rail, but it remained a guess, until we got the full sentence (on your cue, thanks again). On top of it, we found out that the proposed fragment did not exactly reproduce the original text, which is a capital sin.

And thank you, Ana Reis, for obliging. The number of specific context requests that go unanswered is unbelievable. ;-)

estrias de/da luz da lua

Absolutamente nada a ver com a a Lua no sentido físico direto: a luz da lua, filtrada através dos trilhos (elevados) do metrô, deixa uma imagem de estrias (slats) no pavimento. Contudo, dentro do texto, ficaria melhor:

Como se fosse um lobo, um longo cão/cachorro magro apareceu trotando sobre as estrias de luz da lua no pavimento sob o elevado do metrô...
