In 40 years I have not seen/heard "directly bored", if not drilled, then perhaps this could be better described as "punched", especially with the mention of tool and die
Discussion
In spoken Japanese language, they say "丸める", too. R-treatment is a bit formal.
On the factory floor, our Tool & Die guys just call it "rounding"! ;)
