teinte

French to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing manufacture of neoprene bags
Teintes
Les teintes doivent être conformes à celles définies sur les maquettes.

In the specifications for the manufacture of neoprene bags in the section dealing with what should be printed on them. It comes immediately after a paragraph saying they should be screen printed (sérigraphie - 4 couleurs).

I'm rather unsure of what the process entails so would appreciate any knowledge you may have.
Thanks for any help.

colour

Isn't it as simple as that? The colours on the finished product must be identical to those on the reference sample/mockup.

Tint, hue, shade etc. would be for more "poetic" texts.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your contribution. I was wondering how this fitted into the colour scheme as the actual colours to be used in the 'screen printing' have already been stated.

shade

Not in the sense of "ombrage" ...
Note from asker:
Hi - thanks for your answer. I obviously found from my own limited research - shade, hue, colour etc, but I'm not sure about how this fits into the printing process - I wondered whether it wasn't some kind of base colour?

neutral kashew : Not as good as colour - and we say colour shade.

I was thinking of a shade of green, a shade of blue ... but, in North American, I've never seen or heard of "colour shade" ... Live and learn ... White is a colour, but 'off white', 'bone white', etc. are different shades of white ...
