Czech term or phrase: mateřské centrum
Do these even exist in the US / UK / Canada / ?? It's a sort of 'clubhouse' for mothers with babies and small children under the age of 3 or 4 where the mothers can play and socialize LOL ... there are usually some activities for the children and workshops for the mothers. Funded by cities, towns, and the companies that hold workshops there.

Thanks!

Fits more with the setup here and the fact that it is a sort of "official" thing. Thanks

I have not read your explanation before. Anyway, mateřské centrum, is not a place to abandon your child there, that would be kindergarten or nursery. This is a place, where the parent should be together with his/her child.

Asker: I don't think the local mateřské centrum would be too happy if I abandoned my son there :-S
