German term

Elchlogik

German to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Vehicle stability
The text refers to testing vehicle stability while swerving/braking. This is obviously related to the "Elchtest", but I can't think of a concise way of expressing "Elchlogik". Here's the sentence:
"Die *Elchlogik* wird ausgelöst, wenn der Betrag der Gierbeschleunigung größer ist als eine Eintrittsschwelle, die Gierrate mit der aktuellen Gierbeschleunigung weiter ansteigt ..."

All suggestions welcome.
Thanks, Kevin

ESP (logic)

The ESP cuts in when ...
The ESP was developed in response to a failed moose test of the Mercedes A-Class; and I'd prefer ESP or its long form, because not everybody may still be familiar with the story behind it, nowadays.

Danke.
agree Colin Rowe : Gets my vote (and my car's vote, too!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_stability_control

Thanks, Colin - and give your car an extra wax polish ;-)
agree Gerald Dennett : but we do call it the Elk test in the UK. Fortunately we have never encounted an elk while driving our A-Class

Thank you, Gerald. You haven't been to the right places, I suppose. Maybe a Moosehead will have the same effect.

Elk logic circuity

I would add a noun after 'logic.' This appears to be the programming triggered to control the car once the conditions are met.

Circuitry, or programming or steps might also fit.

procedure might be better than 'steps'

agree Darin Fitzpatrick : But I'd use "moose test" : http://www.statemaster.com/encyclopedia/Moose-test

Yeah, elk, moose, they are just big 4-legged creatures that I would rather not meet, with a car or without one.

moose routine

Would at least strike a chord with Woody Allen fans. (Not 100% frivolous)
Good luck!

Note from asker:
I remember the "moose routine". That goes back to the early 1960s, if I recall correctly, when W.A. was still doing stand-up.

Elk logic subroutine

I am assuming this is a programme triggered by the underlying detection mechanism..

also like the idea of "Elk logic Countermeasure"

agree hazmatgerman (X) : Yes, but consider Runge as well.
