Reference: doordecentralisatie Reference information: Hi Chris! Going by my 'gut feeling' as a native speaker and judging by some of the references I took a quick glance at on the internet, I would say that 'doordecentralisatie' basically means decentralising from the highest (most centralised) to the lowest (most decentralised) level in various steps (i.e. until full decentralisation has been achieved so to speak). See f.i. the 'doordecentralisatie' from the 'overheid' via the 'gemeenten' to the 'schoolbesturen' described in the example below: Kernwoord bij onderwijshuisvesting is ‘doordecentralisatie’. Eerst werden de taken, verantwoordelijkheden en financiering voor onderwijshuisvesting gedecentraliseerd van de overheid naar de gemeenten.
