French term or phrase: pose en tableau
This is a type of door hanging technique.

"Conformément aux standards de génie civil, les portes seront posées dans des feuillures, réservées dans les voiles (= pose avec bâti).
Cependant, certaines portes sont implantées sur des cloisons minces. Elles seront posées en tableau (= Huisserie)".

As I understand it, in the first instance, the door is hung in a rebate made in the wall, but in the second, a pre-hung door is to be fitted inside the opening in the partition. Is that correct?

If that's the case, any ideas for "pose en tableau"??

Asker: Thanks, Emma. Ties in with the idea I'd formed in my mind.

Asker: The tableau in your second reference is known as a "reveal" in English. I don't think it's relevant here, I'm afraid.

Asker: Thanks for those brochures, Miranda. I've asked the customer whether we are in fact talking about doorsets. If nothing else, at least these brochures helped me get the right term for "main de porte" ("door handing", rather than "door handedness" as I'd put).
