I submitted this earlier, but for some reason it hasn't appeared, so here goes again.
When 'cuerpo' is used in an architectural context, as below, is it translated as 'body' or is there a more appropriate term?
'Delante de la capilla mayor se dispone el crucero, con una sencilla bóveda baída cuyas trazas están cubiertas por bóvedas de cañón. Hay también un *cuerpo* bajo con capiteles péndolas sobre los que descansa una tribuna de la que arranca el segundo *cuerpo*, sostenido por manchones...'
