standing checkout clerks Explanation: HSH claims that most retail outlets in Iceland use standing clerks as opposed to sitting-down ones. This frees up space to locate tobacco items outta sight, under the counter - space that would otherwise be occupied by the clerk's knees and legs. I suppose upright clerks could be an alternative, unless that would also make them upright citizens... |
